It's been a while since I last posted an article to the blog; fortunately we have been busy working on various projects which has taken up our time. However, that's not an excuse...we committed to ourselves that we would post at least 2-3 articles per month.
It seems as if this would be a relatively easy thing to do but as it turns out, it's not. It's a bit like CPD...you think that you could easily fit in a certain amount of training per year to enhance either you management skills, your financing skills, your storyboard creation skills etc.
Just like learning, you have to focus and commit yourselves to what you are doing. Recent studies have shown that if we can focus on our learning and then have the ability and time to re-visit that learning, we remember for much longer and it stays in our long-term memory.
We need to make sure that we find the time and that we give our employees the time to focus on their learning. It becomes much more productive if we can do that...it has also been shown that if others around us are not focus and are a little distracted, they in turn distract us and we limit our learning.
What would also be extremely helpful for employees is to provide not just the time to focus but the flexibility or mobility to learn. The digital learning spectrum has a solution for all budgets and give learners the on-the-go or on-demand learning needed to work around such busy work and life styles.
This has been just a short post to kick off again; I have a brief post on Learning Management Systems coming up, which is a very basic introduction into what they are and how they can help. So, that's 2 more done. I will have a 3rd post coming up tomorrow on Training Needs Analysis and it's importance when designing training programs.
